Becoming the blushing bride – Bridal
Hair How-To Ideas
Whether your special day is a more
relaxed soirée, a royal affair or a secret garden-themed ceremony, the theme
you choose for your wedding is a reflection of your tastes but also of the
relationship you share with your special someone. In today’s bridal tutorial we
present you with three very different yet beautiful and easy-to-recreate bridal
hairstyles that will match your wedding-style.
The Nature Lover:
For the woman who looks to marry on a
sandy beach, in a beautiful garden or within the depths of an ancient forest,
this relaxed yet elegant hairstyle is for you!
Step One:
Spray your dry hair with De Lorenzo’s
Extinguish Thermal Protection Spray. This will protect your hair from heat
damage and hair breakage. Brush through your hair
Step Two:
Spray your hair with De Lorenzo’s
Sandstorm Dry Texture Spray. This allows you to achieve volume as well as a
more controlled style.
Step Three:
Separate hair into 4cm sections and
curl using a 5cm barrel curling iron. The larger the barrel of your curling
iron the larger the curls, so simply use a curling iron based on how large you
would like you curls to be.
Step Four:
Take sections of your hair from each
temple and loosely plait them together at the back of your head.
Step Five:
Spray your hair with De Lorenzo’s
Vapour Mist Medium Hold Hair Spray to keep the curls in place.
Step Six:
Use a bejeweled hairpiece to keep the
plait in place and provide the hairdo with an elegance befitting of the
occasion!
The Princess Bride:
Whilst not as strict as other more
controlled “princess” hairstyles, the
hair braid crown softens your features and is perfectly suited to a natural,
rosy make-up scheme.
Step One:
Spray De Lorenzo’s Absorb Dry Shampoo
all over your hair to provide it with grit and texture. Start with a deep side
part and take a small “pie” section from the centre of the top of your head to
your hairline above the arch of one of your eyebrows
Step Two:
Split that "pie" section
into three even sections to start your braid. Take the small braid section
closest to the top of your head and make it the new middle section by going under
the one right next to it. Now take the section closest to your front hairline
and put it underneath the one next to it to make it the middle section!
Remember that you're always going under, under, under.
Step Three:
Now you are going to add hair to it
like a French braid. Take another "pie" section starting at the
same point at the top of your head and part all the way to your hairline (make
sure it's thin!) then add that whole section to the little braid section
closest to the top of your head.
Step Four:
Take that section which now has more
hair in it and keep braiding by going under the one next to it to make
it the new middle section. Then take your section closest to your hairline (you
won't need to add more hair to it because you already added it to the other
side) and go under to make it the new middle section.
Step Five:
Repeat Steps 3 & 4 consecutively
taking "pie" sections all the way around your head until you're right
back where you started and then finish off your braid. Secure it with a small
elastic and pin away!
The Vintage Bride:
Think red lips, cream dresses and
retro finger waves: the vintage bride look is an elegant look that simply calls
you to sip champagne and throw a decadent wedding.
Step One:
Comb through your towel dried hair
and create a deep side part on whichever side you feel more comfortable with.
Step Two:
On whichever side that you would like
to create the finger waves, comb through De Lorenzo’s Titanium Super Strong
Styling Gel. This will ensure that the finger waves stay in place. Trail your index
finger down your hair to the point where you would like your first wave. Then
comb your hair over your finger towards the part and clip the wave in place
with a duck-billed clip.
Step Three:
Flip the hair over the clip and
repeat the process with your index finger to where you would like your next
wave. Repeat this step until you have your desired number of waves.
Step Four:
Spray the rest of your hair with De
Lorenzo’s Amplify Spray. This provides the hair with volume and shine. Blow dry
your hair, brushing the remaining hair upwards (steer clear of the finger
waves!).
Step Five:
Once your hair is dry roll your hair
underneath itself in a low bun, securing it in place with bobby pins. You may
now take out the duck-billed clips.
Step Six:
Finally spray your hair with De
Lorenzo’s Afterglow Spray to imbue your hairstyle with shine and avoid static
and flyaways.
