Kate hearts Mario down the aisle

It may be Kate and Jamie saying their vows and wearing the bling, but it will be Kate and Mario cementing their 20 year relationship when he shoots their wedding in July this year.

Testino and Kate have had a close relationship over the years – photographically, and it seems fitting that he is now the one to capture the day the icon supermodel finally walks down the aisle. Or whatever she may be walking down! And let’s hope she’ll be wearing a little more than her most recent shoot - seen here on the Cover of Vogue Brazil!

Rumour has it she’ll be wearing a gown designed by John Galliano – the designer sacked from Christian Dior for making anti-Semitic comments back in February – not a reserved English Rose is Kate!

We’ll be waiting with our notebooks at the ready, for this wedding undoubtedly will be setting trends around the world for years to come!

Live Cattle Trade Exposed - Here's How You Can Help!

If you didnt watch last night's shocking Four Corner's investigation into the abborhent Live Cattle Trade in Indonesia, you will have certainly heard about it in the news today. The program, that included footage captured by Animals Australia revealed the terrible brutality suffered by live australian cattle exported to the slaughterhouses of Indonesia. The footage featured terrified animals being needlessly tortured and beaten, having their throats slit with blunt knives, before being left to endure a very slow and tremendously painful death. The practice is deplorable.

De Lorenzo has always been a strong supporter of national campaigning against cruelty to animals. We know that this is also an important issue to many Australians so we ask everyone to act now and sign this petition to stop live cattle trade to Indonesia immediately.

Maticevski + De Lorenzo RAFW 2011

In an Eveleigh warehouse, a massive space set scene to one of this year’s most anticipated RAFW shows Toni Maticevski.
Set against the cold, crumbling concrete, the shapes and silhouettes of Toni Maticevskis models floated down the runway, contrasting a sublime femininity against the harsh urban environment.

Seemingly not feeling the sub zero temperature, the ethereal beauty of Toni Maticevskis vision graced the catwalk made complete with the collaboration of Michael Wolff and Napoleon Perdis.

De Lorenzo’s hair crew, directed by Michael Wolff, twisted and tweaked locks up into a contemporary take on the French roll. Sleek slick styles contrasted with the highly detailed effervescent beauty of Toni Maticevskis garments, truly a beautiful mix of hair and style.

The tiny area backstage resulted in a hybrid buzz of artists, designers and models. Napoleon Perdis directed his crew with finesse and humour, elegantly interpreting the brief to capture the delicate femininity of Maticevski designs yet contrasting with bold, brazen slashes across the lids of the eyes keeping it edgy and modern.

With a standing ovation completing the show, it was all over in a a matter of
minutes – nine to be exact, yet those minutes stood still for each piece
of art whilst walking this past years work down the catwalk.
Toni, you totally delivered and we were so happy to be able to be
a sponsor for your show this year!

'White Heat' RAFW Day 2 Round Up

It looks like Australia's fashion pack have secretly colluded to create a summer full of white hot trends! Its day two and already everywhere we look, we see a stream of willowy white silhouettes sashaying down the catwalk. Does this mean white is the new black? We think so and in our corner, the likes of Alex Perry, Zimmerman, Arnsdorf, Friend of Mine, Rachel Gilbert, Gail Saronda and the list goes on.

Also on the hot list for this summer...

*Go strapless! the clutch reigns supreme!

*Channel your inner Talitha Getty for a 60's bohemia revival

*Understyled loose long hair (sorry to those still growing out last season's 'bob')

*Vanilla lace lace baby!

VIVA ESPANA!

When we think of Spain, we usually think of Paella, Picasso and Penelope Cruz, but thanks to Spain's latest edition of Harper's Bazaar, we can add the Glamazon Revival to that illustrious list! The editorial spread features Australia's very own model of the moment, Bambi Northwoord-Blyth in all her bushy browed glory. The look is reminiscent of a time when Gia Carangi was crowned the world's first 'supermodel', Christian Dior was the designer de rigueur, and any discernable fashionista wore only the latest frosted Cutex polish on her fingertips. Hair was big, clothes were sexy, and lips were always red! Northwood-Blyth was styled by Juan Cebrian and shot by Spanish photographer Nico Bustos. God bless those Spaniards!

Andrej Pejic + Micheal Wolff =

MAGIC.

"....I loved Andrej’s look so much,
the whole androgynous thing… it elevated
the whole image of the salon. It’s kind of like
stepping into the moment. Does it matter if it’s
a man or a woman? So many guys have
long hair. People appreciate beautiful people.
To me Andrej had the most perfect face.

"It’s what’s now. This is what’s happening now.
I see lots of young people walking around
and I think they’re quite androgynous. It’s not
about sexuality, about being gay or straight.
There’s a whole new thing going on now,
so having the opportunity to shoot
Andrej was very cool”.

- Micheal Wolff.
( interview with Frockwriter).

Micheal Wolff, our hair stylist for this years RAFW,
is once again on the money.
Since using Andrej Pegjic for his salons branding in Potts Point,
the model has gone on to be one of the most popular,
highly anticpated and controversial, models to date - globally.

Here are a couple more shots from this fantastic shoot:

4 days.....

"Tucking, twisting and looping his textural and fluid fabrics into fascinating shapes, Maticevski believes every stitch and every detail, every line and every shape should provoke an emotional response from both the wearer and the observer."

Oh Toni, you draw an emotional response from us alright!!!!! sigh.

.........four days to go.....
